Do you want to help develop Gothenburg's parks, nature, and water environments? We are now looking for a technical manager who wants to contribute to sustainable and well-functioning outdoor environments for the entire city.

Gothenburg is developing rapidly, and our parks, natural areas, and water environments play a central role in the city's living environments. In the Department of Outdoor Environments and Urban Life, we work to create safe, accessible, and attractive environments that endure over time. We are responsible for large and varied geographical areas with many different types of facilities and natural types, and we are now looking for a technical manager who wants to take responsibility for both the whole and the details in these environments.

As a technical manager, you will have an important role in planning, developing, and managing the city's areas and facilities within one of our geographical areas. You will work long-term, fact-based, and closely with operations, contributing to ensuring that Gothenburg's outdoor environments continue to be sustainable, well-maintained, and appreciated by both residents and visitors.

Responsibilities

In the role of technical manager, you will work with:

• Planning and following up on maintenance, upkeep, and development measures for areas and facilities
• Conducting analyses and assessments of needs, functions, and status
• Establishing long-term documentation for priorities and action decisions
• Coordinating smaller contracts and consulting efforts
• Participating in early stages of investment and development processes
• Engaging in matters and referrals concerning land, nature, facilities, and water environments
• Contributing to structured documentation, facility information, and mapping data
• Helping to develop our working methods and approaches within management

You will work closely with colleagues in the development and management units, other parts of the department and management, as well as other administrations. The role involves many points of contact and requires a good ability to collaborate and create context in complex issues.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant higher education, for example in landscape management, nature conservation, urban planning, environmental science, geoscience, forestry, or equivalent
• Experience in technical management, planning, or development of outdoor environments or nature and park facilities
• Experience in conducting analyses and providing documentation for decisions
• Experience working with contractors, consultants, or operational performers
• The ability to work in a planned, structured manner with a good overall perspective
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing
• Ability to use GIS and mapping data as support in planning work

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in public administration
• Knowledge of nature conservation, forestry, water environments, or technical systems in outdoor environments
• Experience with facility data or structured information management
• Experience from planning or investment processes
